EXPRESS ENTRY
Express Entry (EE) is an online system for immigration applications that allows individuals to submit their profiles and be considered as skilled immigrants. Those with the highest rankings are invited to apply for permanent residency.

How does EE work?

When you create your Express Entry profile, it is ranked using a points system. Points are awarded based on factors such as education level, language proficiency in English and/or French (Canada’s official languages), work experience and skills, age, a job offer in Canada, and your spouse’s education, language proficiency, and work experience.

Additional points may be awarded if you have completed a program in a Canadian college or university or if you have a provincial nomination. If your total points rank you highly, you will receive an invitation to apply for permanent residency as a skilled immigrant. Once you accept the invitation and submit the necessary documentation, your PR application will be processed within six months.

Which Immigration Programs Does EE Cover?

Express Entry covers the following immigration programs: a. Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW) b. Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST) c. Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Do I Qualify for EE?

You qualify for Express Entry if you meet the eligibility criteria for the Skilled Worker program, Skilled Trades program, or Canadian Experience Class.

How Does EE Choose People for PR?

  • Upon submitting a profile, it is entered into a pool with other Express Entry applicants.
  • Profiles are then ranked against each other based on points.
  • Those with the highest rankings are selected and receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.
  • Zane Immigration team can assess your case, identify the strongest aspects of your application, and help maximize your eligible score to increase your chances of receiving an invitation.
  • We will also assist you in submitting the required documentation promptly after receiving an ITA, ensuring a smooth process toward obtaining your Canadian Permanent Residence.

PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM (PNP)
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) allows Canadian provinces and territories, with the exception of Nunavut and Quebec, to nominate individuals who desire to immigrate to Canada and settle in a specific province. Quebec, instead, has the authority to establish its own selection criteria for economic immigration.

The primary objective of the PNP is to distribute the benefits of immigration across Canada. Prior to the program’s launch in 1998, a majority of Canada’s immigrants settled in Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia. Since 1998, the country has witnessed a more equitable distribution of immigration as the Prairie provinces (Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba) and the Atlantic provinces (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador) have been successful in attracting immigrants, largely due to the PNP.

Each PNP includes at least one immigration stream that aligns with the federal Express Entry system. Provincial nominations issued under these Express Entry-aligned streams, known as ‘enhanced nominations,’ offer significant advantages. Express Entry candidates who receive enhanced nominations are awarded an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, guaranteeing them an invitation to apply for permanent residency under Express Entry. Furthermore, their permanent residency applications are typically processed by the federal government within six months. The alternative way to obtain permanent residency through the PNP is through a ‘base’ stream, where applicants directly apply to a specific PNP stream. Once a provincial nomination is obtained, the federal government processes the permanent residency application.

Determining which PNP streams you are eligible for can be challenging, given the availability of over 80 provincial immigration streams. Contact Zane Immigration team to help you discover the right immigration pathway to Canadian permanent residence.

SPONSOR YOUR FAMILY TO IMMIGRATE TO CANADA
Every year, Canada warmly welcomes over 100,000 immigrants through family sponsorship. The Spouses, Partners, and Children Program accounts for approximately 80 percent of these immigrants, while the Parents and Grandparents Program covers the remaining 20 percent. Family reunification is a fundamental pillar of Canada’s immigration system. Since the end of World War II, Canada has actively aimed to strengthen its economy, unite families, and provide humanitarian and compassionate support by welcoming immigrants.

Sponsorship involves two key aspects:

  1. Enabling your family member to immigrate to Canada and obtain permanent residence (PR).
  2. Requiring you, as the sponsor, to commit to fulfilling their basic needs and providing financial support.

Am I eligible to be a sponsor?

To sponsor a family member, you must meet certain requirements, including:

  • Being a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
  • Being 18 years of age or older.
  • Demonstrating the ability to financially support the sponsored person for several years.

Whom can I sponsor?

You can sponsor the following family members:

  • Spouses and common-law partners.
  • Dependent children.
  • Parents and grandparents.

Reach out to Zane Immigration Inc. to explore the options available for sponsoring your family’s immigration to Canada. Our team will guide you through the process and provide the necessary support to reunite you with your loved ones in Canada.

CANADIAN IMMIGRATION AND WORK PERMIT OPTIONS FOR CAREGIVERS
Caregivers play a vital role in Canada’s economy and society, and recognizing the importance of their contributions, Canada offers various immigration and work permit pathways for caregivers. With an aging population and low birth rate, Canada understands the significance of attracting and supporting caregivers in the country.

Canada has a rich history of welcoming caregivers, and as part of its ongoing commitment to modernize immigration policies and programs, it has recently reformed caregiver pathways for permanent residence. Currently, there are two pilot programs available for caregivers seeking permanent residency. These pilot programs also provide applicants with the opportunity to obtain temporary work permits while their permanent residence applications are being processed. The first pilot program is the Home Child Care Provider Pilot, and the second is the Home Support Worker Pilot.

Both the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot offer pathways to permanent residence for caregivers who meet the following criteria:

  • Have a minimum of 12 months of full-time qualifying work experience in the 36 months prior to submitting the application (effective April 30, 2023).
  • Demonstrate language proficiency at a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 5.
  • Possess at least one year of Canadian post-secondary education or its foreign equivalent.
  • Successfully pass admissibility checks related to health, criminality, and security.

If you are considering immigrating to Canada as a caregiver, Zane Immigration Inc. can help you explore your options. Our experienced team will provide guidance and support throughout the application process, ensuring you understand the requirements and assisting you in pursuing a brighter future as a caregiver in Canada.

A work permit allows individuals from foreign countries to work temporarily in Canada. With over 100 different options available, Canada provides a wide range of opportunities for foreign workers. Canada offers various categories of work permits to foreign nationals who wish to work in the country. Below are some of the primary categories of work permits available in Canada:

International Experience Canada (IEC): This program is designed for young adults aged 18 to 35 from partner countries that have a bilateral youth mobility agreement with Canada. Participants in the IEC program can work and travel in Canada for up to two years.

International Mobility Program: This category applies to individuals who are exempt from the LMIA requirement. It includes individuals covered under international agreements such as the CUSMA or GATS, intra-company transferees, and participants in youth exchange programs.

Employer-Specific Work Permits: These permits are issued to foreign nationals who have received a job offer from a Canadian employer. The employer must obtain a positive Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) from the Government of Canada to demonstrate that there are no Canadians or permanent residents available to fill the job.

Bridging Open Work Permit: A Bridging Open Work Permit is a valuable option available to individuals in Canada who have submitted an application for permanent residence and are awaiting a decision. This permit allows them to extend their work authorization during the transition period, ensuring continued legal status and the ability to work in Canada.

Intra-Company Transfers: This work permit category is intended for foreign nationals who are transferred to Canada from a parent, branch, subsidiary, or affiliate of a Canadian company. The individual must have been employed with the company for at least one year before being transferred to Canada.

Open Work Permits: Open work permits allow foreign nationals to work for any Canadian employer without requiring a specific job offer. These permits are granted to individuals who meet specific eligibility criteria, such as spouses or common-law partners of certain skilled workers or international students.

Post-Graduation Work Permit: This category is available to international students who have completed a program of study at a designated learning institution in Canada. The permit allows them to work in Canada for up to three years after graduation.

Caregivers: This work permit category is for foreign nationals hired to provide in-home care to children, seniors, or individuals with medical needs.

Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program (SAWP): The SAWP is a program for foreign nationals employed by Canadian agricultural employers on a temporary basis.

These are some of the main work permit categories in Canada, each with its own eligibility requirements and application process. It is important to thoroughly research each category before applying to ensure eligibility. Contact Zane Immigration Inc. by phone or email to determine your eligibility and explore your options further.

This visa option is particularly beneficial for parents and grandparents residing in countries that require a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) for entry to Canada. By obtaining a Super Visa, they can freely travel between Canada and their home country without the inconvenience of regularly reapplying for a TRV.

To be eligible for the Super Visa, applicants must be parents or grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents. They must also meet specific conditions set by the visa office where they will be submitting their application, and they should not be inadmissible to Canada due to health or security reasons.

PERMANENT RESIDENCE CARD RENEWAL
Renewing your Permanent Resident Card is essential to maintain your status as a permanent resident of Canada. This identity document, issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, serves as proof of your permanent residency when you re-enter the country.

Upon your initial entry as a new permanent resident, you do not need to apply for a PR card. It will be sent to the Canadian mailing address provided by you. You have 180 days after entering Canada to provide this address. The PR card must be valid in order to return to Canada by plane, train, bus, or boat. It is not issued outside of Canada. However, if you are a permanent resident outside of Canada without a PR card, you can apply for a temporary travel document to facilitate your entry into Canada.

To be eligible for a PR card renewal, you must be a permanent resident and submit your application within Canada. It is important to note that maintaining your permanent resident status requires you to reside in Canada for at least 730 days within the last five years. If you cease to be a permanent resident, your PR card will be revoked.

CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP

Canadian citizenship provides individuals with the legal status to live, work, and participate in Canadian society. Here are the main requirements and steps for becoming a Canadian citizen:

To be eligible for Canadian citizenship, you must hold permanent resident status in Canada, have resided in Canada for at least three years (1,095 days) out of the last five years, and meet other criteria such as language proficiency and knowledge of Canada.

To apply for Canadian citizenship, you need to complete the citizenship application form, gather the required documents, and pay the application fee. Once your application is approved, you will be required to take a citizenship test to demonstrate your knowledge of Canada’s history, government, and laws. After passing the citizenship test, you will be invited to attend a citizenship ceremony where you will take the Oath of Citizenship and officially become a Canadian citizen.

It is important to note that eligibility requirements and the application process may vary based on individual circumstances, such as age, military service, and criminal history. To determine your specific eligibility, it is recommended to contact Zane Immigration Inc. for personalized guidance.
